Beware mommies..kat dalam shopping complex tu slalu ada booth tepi-tepi or tengah-tengah yang jual candies, all sorts of nuts and junk food..biasa beli pakai gram or scoope tu..sebab ada yang tidak diketahui tahap ke HALALannya.

All the colours memang easilly attracts children,

18 Tips for early Potty Training Sucsess

Potty Training is something I'm looking forward to do since Najihah is 2 years old already. At the moment, She's well aware about what is 'Yak' and what is "ish ish"<- terms that we use. But the thing is, she never told me before it happens, she only force me to wash her after it happens, well at least we know that she's not comfortable with all the 'yak' in her diaper.

I've read few infos regarding potty training and  mostly says that we can start after the baby  is ready and can understand. Mummy's Review is sharing tips on how we can train the baby ready (her terms is pre-potty training).. so interesting. Any Mummy's want to share thier experience?

Source: MUMMY's Review

Have the right attitude: Start when you are ready, not because someone else wants you to start. Be positive and ready to face the challenges ahead.

Recognise and remember your main objective: Why do you want to potty train your baby? Personally, I dislike flattened / squashed poop on bums and diapers, so cleanliness became my key motivation. When you face lack of progress or regression, remember your main objective.

Choose a comfortable potty: We decided on the BABYBJÖRN Potty Chair, which is comfortable, steady and easy-to-clean. It is in red, Vee’s favourite colour.

Start pre-potty training early: The No-Cry Potty Training Book suggests 10 months old. We started at 7 months old since I have already bought the potty. When baby is able to sit up without support, it is a good time to let him sit on the potty without a diaper. Great chance to air the bums too.

Choose a suitable time for sitting on the potty: We started with once a day, after Vee is well-rested, well-fed and before his bath, when his diapers have to be off anyway. Gradually increase potty-time to during every diaper change.

Be patient: If baby fusses and refuses to sit on the potty, it is ok. Just try again at the next diaper change or the next day. I believe in only associating pleasant experiences with the potty. In the beginning, Vee was on the potty for at most 10 minutes before proceeding to bath. It does not matter whether there is output or not. The objective of pre-potty training is to let baby get used to sitting on the potty.

Lots of smiles and encouragement: This helps baby feel at ease during potty-time. The more relaxed she is, the easier to relieve her output. Usually, before the poo arrives, Vee needs to lie his head on my shoulder and hold my hands for support. Try to meet your baby’s emotional needs at the potty.

Introduce potty training hand signs and words: Choose your words and/or hand signs for pee-ing and poo-ing. Every caregiver for the baby has to be consistent in using the same words / hand signs. Personally, we use “poo poo” and “wee wee”, which are easy to pronounce. Other words to introduce are the names of private parts, the potty (we simply call it “toilet”), farting, flushing, wiping, and washing.

Recognise baby’s expressions before / when having output: Vee shivers a little before pee-ing sometimes. Before a big motion, he usually becomes quiet, expressionless and starts straining a little. Poop is the easiest to catch in the potty. Once he shows the “I’m-going-to-poo” face, I strip his diaper off and plop him onto the potty. Side advantage: bums which are much easier to clean. (I can’t stand flattened or squashed poop!)

Make every little success a BIG deal: This helps baby know that she has done the right thing, and encourages her to repeat the success. When Vee first pee-ed into the potty after 1 month of pre-potty training, I was elated! After every pee / poo in the potty, I show a big and sincere smile, clap my hands excitedly, kiss him, hug him and say “Well done!”. After nearly one year of potty training, I continue to encourage him the same way and he is more than happy to use the potty.

Support baby’s progress: There are odd occasions when Vee says he needs to poo in the midst of lunch. Fine, I cover the food, bring him to the potty, finish his business and then we continue with lunch. At other times, he tells me he needs to pee at the end of our bedtime routine. Fine, he goes to the potty, finish his business and we proceed to sleep. Even though these are little inconveniences, I actually feel happy that Vee is progressing well.

Recognise if baby is giving real potty signals: This part is more for a cheeky toddler like Vee, who realises that he gets my full attention during potty time. Sometimes, he would say “poo poo” and point to the potty when he is actually seeking my attention. When I bring him to the potty or attempt to remove his diaper, he shakes his head. In the beginning, it could get irritating. After a while, I manage to tell between his real and the fake signals.

Careful use of distractions: Sometimes, to help Vee sit a little longer at the potty (e.g. waiting for the poo to arrive), we sing and play simple finger games. He could also hold a simple toy. If he gets too excited with playing, he forgets about the need to poo and takes ages. If he is relaxed and quiet, the pee or poo arrives faster. Find out what works best with your child.

Let baby watch you use the toilet: Vee has been watching me use the toilet since he was a newborn. During potty training, I describe to him what I do in the toilet, especially flushing the toilet, so that he does not develop a phobia for it.

Use toilet at the same time: When Vee was stable sitting at the potty, we would also use the toilet / potty at the same time. Children love to imitate adults.

Continue with potty training during travels: On overseas and out of town trips, we bring along a travel potty so that the routine continues. It could take only 3 days to break a child’s routine, so don’t risk regression once you have started potty training.

Be cool about accidents: Expect pee/poo accidents to happen and be cool about it. We have our share of accidents and it takes only a few minutes to wipe up a pee puddle or scoop poo up from the floor. I have a pile of traditional square nappies ready to clean up mess anytime. Being prepared reduces the frustration.

Use cloth diapers / training pants: These help the child to feel the wetness, recognise the discomfort due to wet diapers and progress faster. Some modern cloth diapers are very stay-dry, so may not aid potty training. Cotton and bamboo are feel-wet fabrics. Microfleece feels relatively wet before wicking the wetness away. Suedecloth stays very dry.

Sample Progress Timeline

Every child would progress differently. Below is a summary of Vee’s progress, just for your reference:

7 months old: Sits on potty chair once a day before bath

8 months old: First pee in the potty. Gradual progress to sitting on potty during every diaper change.

9 months old: Pee-ing in the potty a few times a day.

10 months old: First poo in the potty. Encourage him to poo every morning. Almost all poo done in the potty.

15 months old: Tells me before poo-ing — semi-potty trained.

17 months old: Sometimes tells me before pee-ing. Wakes up with significantly drier diapers in the morning, with large volume of pee in the potty.

18 months old: Tells me more frequently before pee-ing. Occasionally wakes up from nap with dry diapers.

Concluding keywords: be patient and consistent. All the best to you in your potty training journey!

Kisah Seorang Suami

Selalu cerita tentang isteri mithali, apa kata hari ni kita cerita pasal ciri-ciri suami mithali pulak.

senang baginya, termasuklah bau badan saya. Morning
sickness yang teruk sekali bagi isteri
saya.Kasihan sungguh, terbaring saja sepanjang masa.
Makan tak boleh, minum tak nak, apa pun tak nak.
Adakalanya isteri saya semalaman tak dapat tidur,
kadang-kadang tu asyik nak tidur saja. Selesai saja
solat Isyak dah masuk bilik. Pada awalnya saya tidur
kat luarlah sebab dia tak boleh bau badan saya.
Saya fahamlah orang mengandung memang macam tu,
sehingga isteri saya terlelap.Memang kebiasaan
sebelum mengandung pun saya akan membaca
Al-Quran diatas katil di sisi isteri sebelum tidur
sehinggalah dia terlelap.

Sekarang saya terus membaca Al Quran disisinya
'Kasyaful Mahjub'. Mungkin ada pembaca yang berkata
saya terlalu ghairah, kebarangkalian untuk janin
survive masih tipis. Tapi mana ada ayah yang tak
berharapan. Segarang-garang harimau pun tak makan
anak, apatah lagi saya. Apa yang akan berlaku pada
kemudian hari adalah diluar bidang kuasa
saya. Siapa saya untuk mempersoalkanya.

Saya bercerita kepadanya tentang Allah,
zat, sifat, asma, afal. Dan cerita itu kembali
bercerita kepada diri saya. Adayang menghantar
email dan bertanya bagaimana mahu mensihati anak agar
tidak degil. Jawapan yang mahu saya nyatakan bukan hanya
untuk anak tetapi untuk sesiapa sahaja terutamanya
yang mempunyai hubungan rapat dengan kita.Tak
kiralah anak, isteri atau suami. Bagaimana?

1. Semasa anak atau isteri kita sedang tidur inilah
waktu yang paling sesuai terutamanya diwaktu dua
pertiga malam, kerana fikiran bawah sedarnya(sub

menerima pernyataan anda iaitu kelopak matanya
bergerak-gerak. Insyallah saya doakan diri saya dan
anda berjaya dengan kaedah ini.

Pernah di zaman Imam Abu Hanifah (Hanafi An
Nu'man), seseorang pernah bertanya kepada bapa
Imam Abu Hanifah. "Tuan, bagaimanakah tuan mendidik Hanafi
sehingga begini istimewa jadinya. Jawab bapa Imam
Abu Hanifah "Aku didik Hanafi 40 tahun sebelum dia
dilahirkan".

Saya sentiasa
berdoa agar dia terus membesar dan dilindungi Allah
sebagaimana Allah memelihara Imam Abu Hanifah. Saya
nasihatkan dia dengan nasihat yang disuarakan oleh
Luqman Al Hakim kepada anaknya. Saya bacakan kisah
para rasul, para nabi, wali songo, tujuh wali melayu
kepadanya. Cuma isteri saya menasihati agar suara
pula kata mereka nanti.

dibuai mimpi. Saya baru selesai membaca surah yasin
disisi isteri hingga dia terlelap. Saya kehalaman
rumah, mahu merenung langit malam, satu-satunya hobi
saya semenjak kecil semenjak di rumah anak-anak
yatim piatu, saya bawa hingga kini. Langit agak terang
dan bersih. Saya bersandar dibangku marmar. Kalau isteri
saya sihat pastinya dia menemani saya disini, kami
akan bercerita tentang segala-galanya, tentang masa
depan, tentang anak, tentang cinta, tentang tuhan.
Saya terus merenung langit malam, saya anak yatim
piatu yang ditinggalkan ditengah padangrumput,sehingga
sekarang tidak diketahui siapa ibu ayah saya. Kini
saya biarkan membesar seperti saya. Dia tidak akan saya
biarkan menagih kasih dirumah kebajikan.
saya. Air mata ini mengalir lagi. Mudah benar ia
tumpah.Oh! janganlah tumpah lagi.Sudah terlalu
banyak tertumpah.Kalau mahu tumpah biarlah ketika sujud
menyembah ilahi.Pesan guruku air mata lelaki
jangan ditumpahkan sia-sia.

Saya tidak mahu terus melayan perasaan, segera saya
kuncikan pintu dan ke kamar tidur.Isteri saya
telah pun nyenyak dibuai mimpi.Inilah 'bintang timur'
dalam hidup saya.Ia sentiasa bersinar cemerlang dalam
hidup saya,memberi harapan,keyakinan,kesetiaan dan
cintanya kepada saya.Insyallah tidak lama lagi, akan
muncu 'bintang timur kecil' dalam hidup saya

Macam Sifir

Ingat tak zaman Raihan mula-mula popular dulu? saya memang suka sangat nasyid-nasyid Raihan..modest.

Sempena bulan mulia ni, saya attachkan nasyid 25 Rasul kegemaran saya ^^

Melalui Nasyid seperti ini kita boleh ajar anak kita ingat nama 25 Rasul..mudah kan. Lepas tu boleh la beli buku cerita 25 Rasul untuk buat bedtime story pula..interest dah ada, tinggal peranan kita lagi untuk mengembangkan kecintaan anak-anak kita tentang Rasul-Rasul utusan Allah. InsyaAllah..

Tanda-tanda Anda Sudah Bersedia Untuk Anak Kedua

3-Anak dah pandai bahasakan diri jadi kakak

Semangat semakin berkobar-kobar bila baca maklumat mengenai penyususan susu ibu.

Terdapat berbagai lagi tanda-tanda mahupun consideration/pertimbangan berhubung isu menambah bilangan ahli keluarga ni, contohnya umur ibu itu sendiri, semakin meningkat usia semakin tinggi risiko-risiko kesihatan ketika mengandung.

Apa pandangan anda??

Tragedy in The Backseat

I came across this story just now and as mentioned by parenting dot com it might seem impossible to some, but this tragedy did happen due to stress, changing rolls between mom and dad, etc.. Nauzubillah

I hope mommies could learn something from it

Mary Parks and her husband, Jeff, had everything they wanted: a comfortable house in Blacksburg, VA; well-paying jobs (Parks was an accountant, Jeff a research scientist); and two darling boys adopted as babies from Guatemala. The end of August and start of September 2007 had been stressful, though. Twenty-three-month-old Juan and his 4-year-old brother, Byron, had both been sick on and off. Parks's days had been blurs of work, daycare, doctors, business trips, visits with relatives, and anxiety. On September 7, after attending to a feverish Byron the night before, she left him home to recuperate with Jeff. Her plan was to drive Juan to daycare on her way to work.

Rarely had Parks taken just one boy to daycare. Rarely had she gone to work at all if one boy was sick -- but this time she and Jeff agreed to swap roles. Moments after she started driving, Parks says, she realized Juan had fallen asleep. It was the last time that morning that she would remember he was in the car. "We were no longer taking anything of his to daycare -- we were beyond diaper bags," she says. So there was no baby gear in the front seat to remind her. She caught no glimpse of him in the rearview mirror, either; in his car seat, Juan was too short to spot easily. Most important, perhaps, Byron wasn't there, chattering away. "He never fell asleep in the car," Parks explains.

Instead of stopping at the daycare center, she drove right to work. Parks grabbed her purse from the front seat, went into her office, and had "a normal day." Talked with her supervisor. Ate lunch at her desk. Called Jeff to see how Byron was doing. She even remembers telling colleagues that -- since Juan had been sick, too -- she might have to leave early if a call came from daycare to get him. In her mind, that's exactly where he was.

After work, Parks drove to the supermarket, shopped for dinner, and continued on to the daycare center to pick Juan up -- unaware that he was already sitting right behind her. When she arrived, his teacher asked,
"Was Juan out sick today?"

"No," said Parks. "I brought him this morning."

"He wasn't here today," the teacher said.

Within moments, Parks recalls, "a light in my head went on. I took off running toward the car. My heart was already in my feet because I knew how hot it had been that day. I got to the car, jerked open the door, and saw him. I reached over to him. I remember screaming at him, 'Juan! Juan! You've got to wake up!'?" Cradling her son's body -- stiff and still as a baby doll's -- Parks ran inside the daycare office. One staffer tried desperately to revive Juan with CPR; another called 911. "I went in crying for help," Parks says, "but I knew he was dead."

(story taken from parenting dot com)

Maybe these two options would work

1.easy view mirror

2.front load baby carseat

Montessori Learning At Home

Mommies, anyone had ever adopt method like this mother had done? Did it work? I think montessori learning at home (like the way this mother had done) is unique and fun.

In my case,  Najihah likes to pull out everything from the kitchen cabinet. I've tried the kitchen cabinet  filled up for your little toddler method, but it's not working.

So,if I'm not in the mood, I just  keep on stopping doing my chores whenever she's  bored so i could entertain her needs and saved her ear from hearing my suara sumbang berleter.

If I'm in the mood, I'll just let her go and porak perandakan the kitchen.. but in the meantime I'll teach her things.. for example if she pull out groceries from the bag, i'll take the oppoturnity to talk and teach her about what she hold.

Learning is fun if we just utilised everything around us.
Please watch the effort of this young mom to homeschool her child in montessary concept.

where were we last friday?

Telok Chempedak, yaa.. so many beaches at kemaman, yet we choose Telok Chempedak to spend our precious moment together and help our kid get in touch with nature.
Actually this beach is much cleaner and suitable for mandi manda, refering to the wide beach here.
It takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour for us to reach Telok Chempedak from Kemaman.

pathaway / susur gajah, from the main beach to the other beach which is much wider and more privacy

Reaching the other beach after a long walk with nice scenery (but its already mendung when we arrived there)

Cik.Najihah mandi manda... tak sempat bagi izin mandi dia dah terjun air daa..

seronok sangat ye sayang..nanti cakap ayah lagi nak pi tengok 'nyet..nyet' (monyet) ye.. musti ayah ajak pi sini lagik.. (^_^)

Unpaid Add - moh ramai2 terjah Telok Chempedak, memang worth it

Call For Nanny 911 anyone?

I must say Nanny 911 is a great show for parents to learn something about general parenting. I salute family who was willing to open up the door of their house for the world to view. At the beginning of the show we can see lots of tantrums, hitting, quarrelling, whining, crankiness… you name it, but in the end most problems are solved (it's also the watery eyes part..uhuks..)

I never watch the full version of the show before, but after Little Mama Diary post about it in her blog. I started going through the Youtube, and I felt in love. More or less I can learn how to handle a cranky child and I can also see bits of me in mommies in the show- I must admit sometimes things are out of our control 'cos nobody is perfect.

I loved the episodes of the Finck family; where they learn that communications in family are essential.

You can watch it here.

Watch the show and tell me what you think mommies
By the way, nanny Deb is my favourite.

Which one? (must read story)

Found this story at Dr.Azwan's blog. It's in Malay..takpa la kan.. :)
Really ..really want to share this with all mommies,

Mak Budak tu:tak boleh ...(sambil menangis)... nanti suami saya on the way balik ambil kunci spare...
Pompuan C : Isk tengok tu, sengsaranya baby tu menangis, u sanggup biar anak u mati ke?
Mak budak tu:(sambil menangis)... nanti suami saya marah...
Pakcik B:isk kalau saya punya anak, kalau tertinggal kunci, saya takkan patah balik rumah, saya pecahkan aje cermin kereta ni...
Pakcik C:"Mana bapaknya???"
Mak Budak tu:"Dia balik Meru ambil kunci"
Semua orang:"Apa! Meru!!!"

Suasana menjadi kelam kabut sebab orang ramai menjerit-jerit memaksa untuk pecahkan cermin kereta tu. suasana gamat macam perhimpunan haram...Tapi mak budak tu tak berani buat keputusan. Dia asyik kata..."saya takut suami saya marah" "Tunggu suami saya datang"...

Seorang lagi lelaki menjerit "biar saya periksa dia.... saya doktor".

bapak dia masih tak muncul-muncul ...ye la Meru tu kan jauh.... mungkin bapak dia singgah makan sate kambing dulu...

Mommy, What are the differences?

Cheetah

And the most confusionable
Jaguar

Leopard
Most of the time in najihah’s animal board books (especially if the pics are actually a drawing) I’ll come across these animals; leopard, cheetah and jaguar. If you notice, these 3 animals do have similarities in appearance.
Since I tried to teach najihah both language simultaneously, meaning if the board book is in Malay, I’d also tell her the English word for any word mention in the book and vice versa.

This is when the problem came, when I’m trying to translate these three animals I got mixed up (might also because of my poor English). The most confused one is leopard and jaguar. When I search In the Oxford Dictionary, these are the translations for these three cats

Cheetah: Sejenis harimau Kumbang

Jaguar: Harimau Kumbang

Leopard: Harimau Bintang

Additional: Puma: sejenis harimau (aka harimau dahan)

So, I tried to seach in the internet and this is the most interesting answer I’ve found;

Jaguars and leopards are the same family, but jaguars are in south and Central America and Mexico, and leopards are in Africa, Asia, China, and India. Cheetahs are a different family.

Cheetahs are day animals as well; jaguars and leopards are night animals. The Cheetahs rear legs are also longer and its spine is suppler, allowing its stride to go up to 23 feet (that is part of why it is so fast). Its claws do not fully retract like the jaguar and leopard which enables it to have better grip so again, it can run faster.

Jaguars and Leopards are far more powerful however; they can behead a victim with one swipe of the claw. They are lone hunters like the Cheetah, but their strength far outweighs that of the Cheetah. They have over 500 voluntary muscles they can use at will.

And the answer about the similarity in appearance;

A Jaguar has black spots on its body. The Cheetah also has spots, but is distinct because it has black 'teary' lines from its eyes down to its nose. The Leopard has black spots with thin black circles around them.

I hope this answers could somehow help us in future (^0^) - when our children are curious enough to ask ‘mommy, what’s the difference between these animals?’

If any mommy got a better answer, please do share. Appreciated.

Can anybody please share

Najihah should be given the 18 months jab of DTP and OPV dose on the 26th of January. But unluckily I have to go for a one week course at KL and at that same moment najihah got the Chicken Pox. So the nurse advised me to take najihah for a jab anytime after she heals.

I took a leave last week and went to the clinic with najihah. I was told that najihah was not in a very good condition, she still look a bit weak (this maybe caused by a diarrhea that she had). So she didn’t get the jab yet.

This week she’s on top of the world, healthy and active as always, so I took her to the clinic for that 18 months jab at the age of 19 months!. Again, the nurse said that najihah had a fever, because she saw najihah lips are red-der and her body temperature (thermometer applies at the armpit) is 37 degrees. I’m shock, since najihah seems comfortable, and I don’t think 37 degrees is fever around her age (advice please..)

I don’t want to push it to the edge, since the nurse already said that this 18 months old jab can cause fever and if she’s already feverish it may cause seizure... surely no moms would wants that to happen.

So, the question is, does it really can cause fever, I mean is it a MUST? Mommies, please do share with me.TQ

Stomach ache? Diarrhea? Bloating?

This is a great tip, if mommy have problem like diarrhea, excessive gas or bloating you might want to try this drink- ‘YAKULT’ for a fast remedy.

Last two weeks, najihah and my hubby are having such problem, and yakult had save our day. Even my hubby who doesn’t like drinks like that admits that yakult is different and really helps him relieve from diarrhea and gas pain.

Yakult is a high quality probiotics in the form of a cultured milk drink. Yakult contains the probiotic bacteria "Lactobacillus casei Shirota" (also called the "Shirota strain" or LcS). With 30 billion live Shirota strain in each bottle, Yakult has among the highest concentrations of probiotics compared to other probiotics on the market (most probiotic drinks and supplements claim to contain at most 1 to 10 billion live probiotic bacteria per serving or per capsule).

The Shirota strain is scientifically proven to be among the 'strongest' strains of beneficial bacteria, and has been shown to benefit human health.

In Japan, Yakult is acknowledged by the Japanese Ministry of Health as a "Food for Specified Health Usages" with approved health claim "The Lactobacillus casei Shirota strain reaches the intestines alive, so this product maintains good health by increasing beneficial bacteria, decreasing harmful bacteria and improving the intestinal environment".

I grew up watching Sesame Street and I'm sure many mommies out there will agree with me that Sesame Street is one of the best educational children's show in history.

As a part of their continuing 40th year anniversary celebrations, Sesame Street has announced the availability of free eBooks on their site

There are currently five eBooks that are available for free and a new book will be added and rotated every week. Some of these books have audio read-along with text highlighting and other additional interactive features are planned as well.

I went through a few of this ebook and i've found out that it is so interesting, full of colours and the storyline is simple and as always, cute elmo always finds its way to my heart.

The launch was covered in the Wall Street Journal, as an exclusive http://bit.ly/5TUYkR. I have also included the joint press release that went out about this http://www.impelsys.com/pressrelease/43.
