After a week ++

Hello mommies,

it’s been a while since my last post. I was in KL for 1 whole week of intensive training for searching and securing orphan source... Really pack, i don't even have time to view my bloggy :)

After about 1 week, najihah's 'chicky pox' is getting better, still got few dots here and there, but so much better that the first 3 days. I felt like crying when i bath her, because i know she's still don't understand about her skin condition. Anyhow, she continues on watching and laughing at her own face in front of the mirror, making funny faces to herself like usual… happy as babies always are. Such a strong girl! She don’t cry and get restless so much as I expected, and that is such a relief since I can’t attend to her needs last week because of the course that I’m attending (yeah…my hubby took care of that little precious of us).

Thanks a lot to all my friends who gave info and tips, online or offline. Doctor gave us calamine cream to use on najihah, to lessen the itchiness, but my hubby found and bought this ‘Hurix Calamine Lotion’ and lotion type is so much easier and friendlier to use. It cuts like 70% of my time when using cream type.

We’ve also manage to find the ‘daun semambu’ from Kak Long who was najihah’s caretaker before.

Other tips that I've got regarding tips on 'chicken pox';
i- Use the’ air rebusan daun semambu’ for a bath
ii- Use the ‘daun semambu’ to cover up the place where our child sleep
iii-Use pound rice to scrub the body so there will be no scar afterwards or otherwise use oats.
iv-Just use bio oil or any vitamin E lotion to helps the skins to heal faster.

Being Forgetful

Lately I’m having so much trouble by being an absent minded mommy. Sometimes, at the kitchen initially at the sink, I thought of taking out the fish from the freezer, when I reach the fridge ... I’m lost, I mean I just cannot remember what do I want to do, end up I bring out other things from the fridge.

I guess, being a mom... we always multitasking and happen to have so many to-do lists squirming in our mind that makes us forget few other details. I should not start the list here because if you are a mom like me, than you should know better.

I did a few reading and this is what I’ve found, I hope this info can help us mommies who’s facing the same problem as me.

Tips to strengthen the memory:
1-Enough sleep to rest our mind and body
2-Control the stress (Al-quran recitel, meditation, spa or aromatheraphy)
3-Be extra careful if you are taking any multivitamin or supplement (careful for side effect to our memory)
4-Exercise
5-Learn something new (learn new language, learn to sew)
6-Read a lot (this can train sharpen our memory) - blogging, blogwalking->such a fruitfull hobby
7-Say repeatedly (if you want to remember something,ie:a a date, say it repeatedly and out loud until you can memorize it)
8-Focus (focus on one thing that you want to do)
9-play with numbers (train your mind spontaneously, ie: do mind calculation, count how many iron grills rod at the door or count how many tiles are there on your living room floor)
10-Keep a calendar or organizer so that you could jot down details whenever you were thinking about it in case you’ll forgot about it later on
11-If you are a muslim, recite Al Quran more, because not only it could calm the soul it also could sharpened the mind.

Food that can increase memory
1-dates
2-honey
3-Ginger
4-Almond
5-milk
6-Zam-zam water
7-carrot juice plus milk
8-apple
9-Blackcurrent
10-tuna
11-tempe
12-soy

**Try to practice this breathing exercise to increase Oxygen in our blood, inhale (with 7 counts) and exhale (with 14 counts). Repeat especially when you are feeling tired. try it, its great!

***oxygen is so important and that’s why we cannot cover our face when we are sleeping because the Carbon Dioxide that we exhale would accumulate, hence ruining our brain cells.

****I'm making my own conclusion, maybe I'm not being forgetful because of hormonal changes or what so ever, maybe its because i'm not being focus.. Too many multithinking and multitasking. So, I'll focus and practice more on my own tips.

Stomach ache? Diarrhea? Bloating?

This is a great tip, if mommy have problem like diarrhea, excessive gas or bloating you might want to try this drink- ‘YAKULT’ for a fast remedy.

Last two weeks, najihah and my hubby are having such problem, and yakult had save our day. Even my hubby who doesn’t like drinks like that admits that yakult is different and really helps him relieve from diarrhea and gas pain.

Yakult is a high quality probiotics in the form of a cultured milk drink. Yakult contains the probiotic bacteria "Lactobacillus casei Shirota" (also called the "Shirota strain" or LcS). With 30 billion live Shirota strain in each bottle, Yakult has among the highest concentrations of probiotics compared to other probiotics on the market (most probiotic drinks and supplements claim to contain at most 1 to 10 billion live probiotic bacteria per serving or per capsule).

The Shirota strain is scientifically proven to be among the 'strongest' strains of beneficial bacteria, and has been shown to benefit human health.

In Japan, Yakult is acknowledged by the Japanese Ministry of Health as a "Food for Specified Health Usages" with approved health claim "The Lactobacillus casei Shirota strain reaches the intestines alive, so this product maintains good health by increasing beneficial bacteria, decreasing harmful bacteria and improving the intestinal environment".

Mommies, If pain persist… please see a doctor, this I just a tip about a reliever and not a medicine at all. Thank You.

Sesame Street's FREE ebook

Salam and greetings to all mommies,

I think it is still not to late to wish you all Happy New Year, I can't believe that this is my first entry for year 2010.

I've figured out my new year resolutions and I named it 'The 10 of 2010' I pray Allah would give me more strength and Istiqamah to make my '10 of 2010' became a reallity.. all of 10 aminn.. I also hope that all of us-mommies- can be a super mom and most importantly without neglecting ourself.

To start up a happy..happy year for our children.. I would love to share the info about new Sesame Street free eBooks site, I know my child will love the fluffy elmo.. I grew up watching Sesame Street and I'm sure many mommies out there will agree with me that Sesame Street is one of the best educational children's show in history.

As a part of their continuing 40th year anniversary celebrations, Sesame Street has announced the availability of free eBooks on their site

There are currently five eBooks that are available for free and a new book will be added and rotated every week. Some of these books have audio read-along with text highlighting and other additional interactive features are planned as well.

I went through a few of this ebook and i've found out that it is so interesting, full of colours and the storyline is simple and as always, cute elmo always finds its way to my heart.

The launch was covered in the Wall Street Journal, as an exclusive http://bit.ly/5TUYkR. I have also included the joint press release that went out about this http://www.impelsys.com/pressrelease/43.

Well mommies, The free books can be accessed by visiting http://www.sesamestreet.org/ebooks/.

Have fun!
